Dolphin rescued by SeaWorld is released

A 1-year old common dolphin named TJ was returned to the ocean by SeaWorld San Diego on Oct. 8th. TJ was rescued from a beach near Tijuana in May, and was brought to SeaWorld for care. He was severely dehydrated, malnourished, and couldn’t swim on his own when he was found. There was some doubt about his survival, but under SeaWorld’s expert care, he thrived and recovered to the point where they were able to teach him to hunt fish and survive in the ocean. He was fitted with a special transmitter so that he can be monitored. You can read more about TJ’s amazing rescue story here.
