Animal rescue teams from SeaWorld Orlando recently helped an entangled dolphin and her calf. The adult dolphin and her calf were spotted in the Indian River Lagoon. The mother had fishing gear entangled around her body and fins. After the fishing gear was removed from the mother, both she and baby were evaluated on the scene, and then released together.
The rescue team included biologists from: SeaWorld Orlando, NOAA, Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Hubbs Sea World Research Institute, the University of Florida, Volusia County, Georgia Aquarium Conservation Field Station and Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
